Please don’t remind me that Thanksgiving is next Thursday & I am now just sharing with you our Halloween update. Since at least September Phoenix has been talking about how excited he was to go trick or treating. We started looking on Etsy & his costume ideas changed every time I changed the page. A ghost, Optimus-Crime, a bumblebee, a pumpkin, an angry bird, Woody, Buzz Lightyear, Jesse the Cowgirl {I guess I should have gone with that one. What a traffic soar that would have been!}, and finally a pirate. We bought two costumes {a pirate & Buzz Lightyear} and he decided on the pirate mere moments before heading out. 

I never really got a chance to dress up for Halloween because of my families religious practices at the time. When I was 19 I decided for the first time ever to go against my parents & get dressed up that year & go clubbing. I started looking for sexy costumes online & ordered a nurse costume at first. As much as I wanted to use that excuse to be a little bit naughty this nurse costume left very little to the imagination. At the end of the day I decided to go as a sexy little devil & had a great time. But that was 5 years ago.

Now when I think about getting dressed up for Halloween or any kind of costumed celebration I think that its a great excuse to get really dressed up & pretend for one night I’m a 72 day married socialite & I start looking for fancy dress ideas. My other favorite costume ideas are the Madonna throwbacks. I think 80′s fancy dress outfits can make some of the coolest costumes {or everyday wear} ideas. I love the big hair, the neon colors, black lace, & the rocker chic of it all. 

BUT despite all that I realized this year that having to come up with a costume idea for me AND Phoenix was too much for me to think about…maybe next year.
