Christmas! We have no tree, we have no decorations, & I’m coming close to the end of my budget & I’m wishing that it was just December 27th already. Ugh. Have I ever mentioned I’m not a very big Christmas person?
Working on:
Trying to define my “house style” after like 7 months I am still living in a sparsely decorated condo with PINK walls that I now hate & a vintage sofa that is showing its wear. When it was first decided that we were going to move here it was not something that seemed like it was going to be indefinite. But now it is so what was ok for temporary reasons is now not at.all. Guess what folks? My bed & box spring sits on the floor! Yeah I know its so like, not cool. I don’t really know exactly what I want & how I want to feel when I walk into my house so I’m trying to figure that out so I can start really moving in, in January.
Thinking about:How annoyed I am with my husband right now. UGH! Can I rant a moment? He works from home. But he also can work as little or as much as he wants, do you see where I’m about to go from with this? He chooses to get up at 6 AM to start his day, but cuts it short to take a 3 hour nap in the middle. So what does this leave? More work he wants to finish during those crazy hours of 5 to 8. I ask him to please feed the dog while I go get Phoenix in bed, put the clean sheets on after the dog peed on the other sheets in the middle of the night & try & get some work done. Only to find that he has NOT fed the dog & the dog is in the trash & he’s outside on the phone. Let me also remind you that we have cell phones, which are conveniently cord free so its not as if he can’t walk to one side of the apartment to feed the dog while still carrying on his conversation with people he’s been talking to since SIX in THE MORNING!
Anticipating:
Peeing on a stick sometime after Thursday…YES I finally removed my IUD which was not in correctly. With feet in stirrups & legs spreads the doctor informs me that this “baby catcher” is just hanging out in my canal & that I should have no problem getting pregnant pretty quickly. I’m very much hoping she’s correct because I’m jonesin’ for a baby Listening to:The air conditioning running to kind of “cool away” some of the heat that rose to the upstairs, the cars driving by outside in the rain because the windows are open to clear away the smell of roast beef that is in my room. Which is pretty strange because I’ve never made roast beef.
Drinking: Nothing. But I am kind of thirsty & thinking about grabbing a glass of OJ before going to bed.
Wishing:
That I am pregnant & that the dog doesn’t pee on the brand new bedding tonight. By the way if you have any helpful “How to stop the dog from peeing on your bed & other household fabrics” tips I would really appreciate them. Thanks to Katie Cupcake for this fun little throwback to the MySpace quiz era.
Hope you get pregnant soon and don’t stress too much over holidays. As long as you with your loved ones that’s all that matters.
The dog issues….we trained our puppy to sleep in his kennel since day one and he thinks of it as his space and doesn’t do business there. Also a schedule for taking puppy out to teach him where to do his business is very important first few weeks. We used to take ours out every two hours during the day to the same spot and praised him after his did it.
I used to work from home then I discovered I wanted to stab myself in the face instead. I need to work outside of the house or I get no work done. I honestly have a really crap work ethic when home. However, no one would know that outside of the house so my semi-secret is safe.. but shh.
What a fun format! I feel you on a lot of that. Living somewhere you don’t love is frustrating. And dog peeing on the bed? Oy. We just moved into a new place and I’m hoping the dog’s anxious peeing has stopped. Now to tackle the pink bedroom…
[...] in me now. Am I thrilled? Like so thrilled! We found out precisely the day I knew we could. The day after this post. We had just had my IUD removed in November & at the gyno I was told that yet again this sucker [...]

Will be thinking of good things for you in hopes you’ll get your wish!
Remember to not stress the small things. We can only do so much when it comes to our fellows.

Confession: My work situation is the same as your husband’s. And I kind of do the same thing….. only without the nap but errands instead.
Don’t hate me.
My justification: We don’t have any kids! So, I should work at my optimal hours!

Good luck with getting pregnant! And the dog, of course. Pets have a thing for peeing on the new stuff…
