I packed my hospital bag after waking up with this very weird feeling. I can’t even explain it, I wasn’t even in labor but I knew it was coming. I woke my husband up by saying “Umm, I think we should pack our bags, I’m not having contractions but something feels weird…” and sure enough about the time we were showered, teeth brushed, bags packed the contractions came on. So I packed very very minimal, but I will say I DID shave my legs while there. I guess showering had always been my “me-time” and it was the last bit I got before reality of never having that time alone again sunk in! I also soaked the handicap-accessible bathroom floor something severe, they may have brought up the whole stock of laundered towels they had just to clean it up! hahaha!

All so true! I relied on the hospital for most things and was glad I did.
{I can’t imagine your husband bringing along a scale places – I avoid those suckers like the plague!

Oh those diaper sized pads from the hospital are THE BEST! I asked for more to take home!

I completely agree with you! I felt like a little thief when I was in the hospital because I took extras of EVERYTHING. Especially the nice icepack things? Love them!

Perfect! So true. I highly recommend taking everything the hospital gives you – the mesh panties, the diaper-sized maxi pads, the newborn diapers, and keeping a hospital gown on for as long as possible so you don’t bleed all over your own clothes. This time I still overpacked, but not nearly as much as last time. Essentials are: a pillow from home, phone charger, hair elastics, socks, an outfit to come home in, and an outfit for baby to come home in, lanolin and a nursing bra. Everything else is extraneous.

This killed me…… I was seriously laughing.

BUT it also reminded me that eventually I will have to pack a hospital bag. My to do list keeps getting longer and longer! I can’t believe how much there is to do simply to have a baby and bring him/her home…….

Not a scale to the hospital but whenever we/he goes somewhere he packs a scale. And once I caught him trying to pack his 15lb dumbbells!
