I will be thankful

I will be thankful when the dishes are never ending.

I will be thankful when the carpet is continuously littered with crackers, broken leaf bits & paper.

I will be thankful when I wipe runny noses & bottoms.

I will be thankful when I pee with interruptions.

I will be thankful when my jeans still won’t button.

I will be thankful when the shirts don’t get ironed & when the laundry is not folded.

I will be thankful when my own nose starts to run & there is no sick day in sight.

I will be thankful when I sit down for quiet, but can’t escape the noise.

I will be thankful when they whine, when they cry.

I will be thankful when they yell.

I will be thankful when they don’t sleep.

I will be thankful when they do sleep.

I will be thankful because they are mine & I am theirs.
