Tricia
Where do you blog at & what do you blog about?
My blog is The Critters And Crayons Blog. It’s a blog about humor in parenting, crafting education, and any other intriguing and odd things that bring happiness, laughter and reflection.
Kids? How many?
Yes. 2. Ages 3 and 4.5
Married?
Yes.
Happy Being Trevy A beautiful blog following a family living with severe epilepsy
Twinisms An Army wife and mother of 2 sets of twins who loves wine.
The Outlaw Mom Blog Beautiful crafts and ideas. Very fashionable, too.
The Ramblings Beautiful writing. And hilariously smart.
Bainwaves A dad-blogger who makes you laugh.
What is your least favorite thing about the Holidays?
Feeling compelled to make all the “fun” activities. Learning how to say no as the years come.
What is your favorite thing about the Holidays?
Family. The food. And making memories with the family that will endure.
What is one thing you miss about being a kid/teen?
My abs. I totally agree! And I took my nice flat tones belly for granted!
If you could dunk an Oreo with anyone dead or alive who would it be?
Stephen Hawking, the physicist and cosmologist. I would have him break down quantum theory for me. I’ve read all his books and I still get confused trying to explain the whole “time-travel, space-time continuum, fabric of the cosmos, and the fact that black-holes are so dense they’d crush you before you entered and could reach another dimension, anyway” theory. It’s just confusing. I would love to not jack it up every time I try to explain it to my husband. He thinks I don’t know what I’m talking about.
I’m giving you $50,000 to go on your dream vacation where are you going & what are you doing? The Galapagos Islands to see what we’d never be able to see anywhere else on Earth.
Biggest misconception about Mom’s? That if you stay home, you are unsophisticated. It doesn’t occur to some folks that a mom on an “off-day” with her hair pulled back, wearing yoga capris that cut across the fattest part of her calf, tennis shoes and a t-shirt might have a couple of Masters Degrees and worked in Senior Management positions at some point. There is a sometime judgment and it manifests in the way that some people can very dismissive. Even if a mom doesn’t have those credential under her belt, no one and no mom should be treated that way. I became aware of this kind of judgement only when I became subjected to it.
What reality TV show do you think you’d be a good fit on?
Chopped. I practice every day. It is my husband’s greatest lament.
How do you get your me time? I blog! I also go to a gym with a good on-site daycare so I can focus on a solid workout. I read.
Probably because I said something that really offended someone and I didn’t even mean it. When you are sarcastic by nature, and you think you’re funny, it’s always a shock to find that someone either doesn’t get your humor, or thinks it’s bad or inappropriate. This is a problem. But, only for the other guy. :) I’d be right next to you on People! LOL
Interesting content. Beautiful prose. Pretty pictures. Helpful tips. My blog is a sort of hybrid that moves between the mom-humor world, the writing world, and the mom-craft and cooking world with some politics when it’s relevant. It’s because I have a lot of interests. Bottom line- I look for something interesting. If it’s interesting, I subscribe.
Thanks so much for the interview, Alexandria! Thank you Tricia!

What’s your name?
Michelle Angela Vinson
Where do you blog at & what do you blog about?
I blog at the dining room table, or on the couch at night. I am a graphic designer that is alway looking for inspiration to keep me creative. I blog about art, decorating, photography, my family, my friends, other designers. . .
Kids? How many?
I have one beautiful baby boy that is 17 months. And . . . one on the way!
Married?
Yes, happily for 5 years on September 16th
1. A Cup of Jo
2. Design Sponge
3. A Subtle Revelry
4. Eat Drink Chic
5. Young House Love
We moved into our house in April so we spent a lot of the summer cleaning up the yard and getting settled in. We also went to a lot of playgrounds and playdates. And, visited our family in Ohio, Pittsburgh and California
Dream vacation?
I would love to go to Italy. I’d eat so much food and soak in all of the architecture, history, art and culture.
I missed Modern Family and excited to see them all on Wednesday nights.
When I was 13, I wanted to be a ballerina. I really wanted to do that until I was probably a junior in High School and then I just got really burnt out with it. I took a couple of dance classes in college while I was still “undecided” in my major. But, eventually just searched for another creative field to go into and came across Visual Communication Design.
We live in Shohola, PA. It is a small town that is 70 miles west of NYC. We moved out this way from Ohio after my husband got a job with the Defense Department, working in NJ. Shohola is a cute little town that is kind of out in the country, but is still a quick drive into more populated areas. We have black bears, wild turkeys and deer in our backyard all the time-which is pretty fun.
I love coffee, but don’t think I could just drink that for the rest of my life. Probably water, I drink it all day long.
That was a boring answer.
Yes. I might even do it for 10,000. I only say this because we live in a very quiet neighborhood where there are not a lot of people out and about and the houses are pretty spaced apart. Might be a scary sight to see a pregnant lady running down the street naked, but I would proudly use that money to remodel our master bedroom/bathroom.
Ivan Lee Vinson. Ivan was the name of my dear friend and hair stylist’s little kitten. When she introduced me to her cat almost 5 years ago, I said to myself “Self, I love that name and need to remember it if we have a baby boy someday.” Lee is Scott (my husband) and his dad’s middle name.
I like to take a walk. Or, eat a fudgsicle and watch the Real Housewives of (whatever city). The crazies on those shows always make me feel really good about myself
I was feeling a little drained with just doing client work and wanted to do something for myself. I have fun making little illustrations and wanted to make some cards that I would actually buy myself. It is a fun and easy thing to do when I am at home during the day with Ivan. I can always fill orders when he is playing or eating breakfast.
What an awesome treat?! Michelle is letting me host a giveaway of her adorable cupcake notecards. One winner will receive a set of 6 Delightful Cupcake cards.
All you have to do is leave a comment here telling me who you would send some old fashioned hand written notes to with these cards. The giveaway will close on October 4th & the winner will be chosen by Random.org.
Make sure to swing by her blog Sweet Relish, her professional website if you’re in the market for any kind of graphic work, & her Etsy shop to see some more of her sweet stationary designs!
Thanks Michelle!!

It’s been several minutes since we had a blogger pop in and I interview them all Diane Sawyer like. Summer tourist activities sure do get in the way huh? Speaking of summer. I had a summer bucket list of 22 things & I did TWO of them. I guess I’ll be renaming that doc “Things to do before Christmas”
Without further ado….
Where do you blog at & what do you blog about? I blog at Ooh Lala… and blog about my toddler, the joys of pregnancy, my husband, our parenting choices, my toddler, turning 30, thinking of or going back to work/grad school, have I mentioned my toddler, and a few other spur of the moment things
Kids? How many? One busy 27 month old boy and expecting baby boy #2 in December.
Married? Happily. We just eloped (Gasp) and decided to have a GRANDE renewal of the vows BIG wedding at our 10 year mark!!
5 Favorite blogs- 1. Airing My Dirty Laundry one sock at a time (She is hilarious and a real mom, not trying to be a Supermom, just Mom, and does a great job). 2. Falling Off a High Heeled Life (She tends to remind ME, now a Mommy, that I am a woman and need to remember to take care of myself). 3. Gina’s Skinny Recipes (I LOVE LOVE LOVE her recipes!! They are all low cal, low fat, and even those on Weight Watchers can follow. I’m always trying to eat healthy, even pregnant). 4. Parenting by Dummies (She’s another REAL mom who is honest and so funny with her posts). 5. Scary Mommy (I love this blog because it’s those dark scary mom moments of brutal truth. The ones we don’t admit to anyone, but we think about and lock away, in order to not be considered a bad mom).
If you were offered a recording contract what artist would your album sound similar too? I have a terrible terrible voice, but with intensive vocal training and great editing, I would hope to sound like a combination of Christina Aguilera and Amy Winehouse.
Are you living in your dream house? If not describe your dream house. No, not yet. But my dream house would be very contemporary and have an amazing chef’s kitchen, the entire top floor would be the Master suite with two master bathrooms (one for hubby and one for me. I love him to death, but we can not share a bathroom), and have a “My Yard Goes Disney” type of backyard. *I must hear more about that!*
Favorite childhood movie. The Last Unicorn
Reality TV? What show are you ashamed to admit you currently watch or used to watch? It’s addicting!! But when I get a chance to watch TV, I currently like Keeping up with the Kardashians, Pregnant in Heels, Ramsay’s Kitchen Nightmares, Gordon’s Great Escapes (I heart him, can you tell), and Texas Women.
Speaking of reality shows. You’re a single girl. Would you ever consider going on the Bachelor or being the Bachelorette? Why? Nope. Never!! Real dating should not be for public viewing. (Although, thinking back, my dating days would have made great television).
Describe your perfect day. 65 degrees, sunny, slight cool breeze and having a family picnic.
Have you ever been on a jury? Would you like to someday? Never. Perhaps it would be interesting.
TMI: Sex in the morning or at night? Neither. In the afternoon or evening. (I’m not a morning person at ALL and by night time I’m only thinking of sleep, before my toddler wakes up). It USED to be different, but having a child changes things .
What Kardashian sister could you be friends with? Kourtney. We seem to have some similarities. Kim has no personality whatsoever. Khloe would have been one of my BFF’s when I was single. (It’s funny, my husband was the one who introduced me to their show back in the day. He’s Armenian).
3 goals you have for your blog this year? Promote my blog a little more, get a few more readers, get some product reviews/sponsors perhaps.
Thanks so much Lala!

What’s on your summer bucket list?
This summer I am going to try and NOT lose my mind. Because I think my mind is a very important thing to have.

Johnny Depp and Hugh Laurie, for entertainment value (and they’re nice to look at), and John Mayer, so I could ask him why he got so lame.

What is your favorite word?
Clearance
What is your least favorite word?
“Mommmm!” usually yelled in that whiny voice.
Are you apart of any blogging networks, if so which ones?
I am part of the clever girls network (and the federated media ad network with them), as well as the SITS girls. I attended Bloggy Boot Camp this summer and LOVED it. So much fun, and so motivating!
Gosh! She is adorable. Does not look old enough to be married that long or have a daughter that not just has a blog, but can spell the word blog! What is your secret Rachel?!
Make sure you follow Rachel like everywhere. Her blog, her twitter & her facebook
